A Chance to See a Movie for a Buck Near Lower Merion

More than 350 Regal Cinemas around the country will offer $1 movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Taking the family to a movie these days can break the bank. Between tickets, popcorn and drinks, it can cost a chunk of change.

Now you have a chance to take the kids to see a movie on the big screen without shelling out too much dough. Regal Entertainment Group, which includes theaters Montgomery County, is hosting Summer Movie Express.

Tickets to the movies are $1. Movies are screened Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Movies to be screened include: Despicable Me 2, Lego Movie, Turbo, Rio 2 and more.

More than 350 Regal cinemas around the country are offering Summer Movie Express. Participating theaters near Lower Merion Township include Regal Plymouth Meeting 10, Regal Oaks Stadium 24 and UA Grant Plaza 9.

Tickets for Summer Movie Express films must be purchased at the theater. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.

"Many families make this a summer tradition and look forward to our announcement of the long list of fun movies coming their way. And for Regal, this helps us instill that love of moviegoing in another generation," said Ken Thewes, chief marketing officer at Regal Entertainment Group. "The titles this year appeal to a diverse group of tastes, and we know there is a little bit of something for everyone."
