Winter Solstice Celebration

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 from 4- 6 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Come join the Friends of Linwood Park and 6:8 Community of Faith to celebrate  the upcoming Winter Solstice. Help create a beautiful display of luminaries, enjoy hot chocolate, smores, and festive music with friends and neighbors. Feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket!
  • Cost: Free

Lower Merion Symphony Concert

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Lower Merion High School 315 E Montgomery Ave, Ardmore
  • Why Go: Guest soloist, Kirsten Johnson, Associate Principal Violist with the Philadelphia Orchestra will perform the Viola Concerto by George Frideric Handel, accompanied by the Lower Merion Symphony conducted by Music Director Mark Gigliotti. Also on the program is Symphony No.5 in B-flat major by Anton Bruckner.
  • Cost: Free, Donations Accepted

Gift Wrapping & Cocoa

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 from Noon - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Philadelphia Sports Club
  • Why Go: Come in and have your purchases wrapped while you enjoy a cup of hot cocoa. 
  • Cost: Cash donations requested to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy

Lower Merion vs. Radnor Food Drive Ice Hockey Game

  • When: Friday, Dec. 14 at 8:45 p.m.
  • Where: Skatium, 1010 Darby Rd, Havertown
  • Why Go: Enjoy an ice hockey game and support the Ardmore Food Pantry and Narberth Community Food Bank.  Please bring non-perishable food items, sundries and monetary donations. 
  • Cost: $4

5th Annual Holiday House Tour

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 16 from 1 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Where: 1240 Center Road, Havertown
  • Why Go: Here is your chance to tour some of Haverford Townships most beautiful homes.  Tickets are available the day of the tour, and can be picked up at the first house on the tour - 1240 Center Road in Havertown or you can pick them up at 226 Wickford Road.
  • Cost: Members: $20; Non-Members: $25

Holly Berry Skate

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1:45 - 3:15 p.m.
  • Where: Skatium, 1010 Darby Rd, Havertown
  • Why Go: Bring the family out to watch this holiday exhibition hosted by the Delaware County Skating Club featuring Club Members and Guest Skaters. Admission fee includes skating, skate rental, and light fare provided by the Skatium Diner. Performance is 30 minutes followed by Friends and Family skate. General public is welcome to this festive, holiday event at the Skatium!
  • Cost:  $5.00

Festival of Christmas Lessons and Carols

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Enjoy a festive afternoon of traditional and inspirational favorites as presented by the choir, congregation and instrumentalists, by candlelight.  A Reception will follow immediately.
  • Cost: Suggested donation $10 for The Ardmore Pantry at St. Mary’s, Ardmore.

Author Event: Skippyjon Jones

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.
  • Where: Children's Book World
  • Why Go: Judy Schachner and Skippyjon Jones are back! Join us for more fun with Judy as she introduces us to the newest Skippyjon Jones adventure - Skippyjon Jones - Cirque de Ole
  • Cost: Free
