Township Holding Rain Barrel and Composting Workshop

The workshop is free, and rain barrels and compost bins will be available for purchase.

Lower Merion Township will be holding a rain barrel and composting workshop this weekend.

The workshop starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, and will be held in the Board Room of the township building, 75 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.

Rain barrels can be used to reduce the impact of stormwater runoff and minimize flooding, the township said.

Composting is a great way to turn grass clippings and other plant-based trash into a resource for your garden, the township said.

The workshop is free. Rain barrels will be for sale for $69 and compost bins for $48. E-mail Andrea Campisi of the Township’s Building and Planning Department at acampisi@lowermerion.org or call (610) 645-6112 to register and if you'd like to buy a rain barrel or compost bin.
