SEPTA Engineers Authorize Strike

A Regional Rail strike could begin as early as June 14.

SEPTA Regional Rail engineers have authorized a strike, which could begin as early as June 14.

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen voted 166 to 2 to strike, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The union representing Regional Rail electricians, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, already had authorized a strike.

SEPTA in May asked President Barack Obama to appoint an emergency board to help settle the labor disputes. If such a board is appointed, that could delay a strike by 240 days.

SEPTA's Regional Rail engineers have been working without a contract since 2010, the Inquirer said. The electricians have not had a contract since 2009.

How would a Regional Rail strike impact you?

Unions were great. Now that Dems aren't giving in to them it could get ugly. Y'all realize your dues fund the Democratic Party, right? They don't use the money on just you. The new Admin is not Democrats..they're fascists and Marxists. Please learn the difference. They high jacked the party and no longer represent actual Democrats. Republicans have the same problem. The Tea Party is fighting back against them. It's time we all unite and fight against all the crony capitalists in DC.
