Safely Recycle Electronics at Wynnewood Event

Old microwave taking up space in your attic? Not sure what to do with that outdated computer?

Whole Foods in Wynnewood is holding an “Anything with a Plug” recycling event from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.

Among the items that will be accepted Thursday are cell and cordless phones, copy machines, toaster ovens, LCD monitors and computers.

“Rest assured that any device containing data is destroyed and no personal information will be compromised,” Whole Foods said in a statement.

Items will be collected by eForce Compliance, a certified electronic recycling company.

There is a $20 fee to recycle televisions and cathode-ray tube, or CRT, computer monitors. Large appliances, such as washing machines, will not be accepted. All other items will be recycled for free.

The event is aimed at personal electronic items, but small businesses with fewer than 50 employees can also bring electronics to be recycled.
