POLL: Frustrations Mount In PA as Snow Mounds Pile Up - What Do You Think?

Please vote: Let us know - how has it affected you?

Winter storms that have buried the region have now left high mounds of snow as the latest obstacle for Pennsylvania residents.

It's a "scary" situation for many motorists and pedestrians, and a few more inches of snow are expected this week.

The high mounds have created hazards for drivers pulling onto highways, while shoppers have trouble navigating parking lots and some pedestrians have been forced to walk in the street.

"This is scary," one motorist told NorthJersey.com. "The snow is piled so high, you have to pull practically into the highway to see the cars coming. It’s ridiculous."

Many Pennsylvania counties and municipalities have attempted to remove the mounds with front loaders piling the snow into dump trucks to be transported to open space areas. However, there is so much snow and not enough time to get rid of it all.

Those mounds could get a bit higher this week with as much as 3 inches of snow possible Monday into Tuesday in some parts of New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service. The Jersey Shore and South Jersey could get an inch or less.

"You’ve got to be really careful because the mounds are so high, especially coming out of a side street," a motorist told CBS New York. "Yeah, it’s an accident waiting to happen."

How have the mounds of snow impacted you? Tell us in the comments. (Note: This post is shared across Patch sites in Pennsylvania).
