Santa at First Friday Main Line

  • When: 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7
  • Where: Downtown Ardmore (see schedule for full details)
  • Why Go: Get into the spirit with strolling carolers, meet Santa, and vote for your favorite gingerbread house, all while enjoying art and music at this monthly arts fest in Ardmore. 
  • Cost: Free

Chanukah Extravaganza 2012

  • When: Sunday, December 9 from 12:30- 2:30 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: A Hanukkah Extravaganza at the Kaiserman JCC features a Clothesline Art Exhibit by the Wilf Pre-school students, free latkes, jelly donuts, gelt, Chanukah games and Kindergym, Kosher dairy lunch provided by Shalom Pizza, a Chanukah art project, face painting, inflatables, dreidel game, olive press, and a multi media Chanukah presentation.
  • Cost: $5 per person (ages 3 and up)

Chanukah in Chocolate Land

  • When: Sunday, December 9 from 4 - 6 p.m.
  • Where: Suburban Square, next to Starbucks, Ardmore
  • Why Go: Featuring a giant chocolate Menorah, a Jewish Dance Revolution, Latkes, Chocolate Fondue, Decorating Donuts, Guess the Dreidel and more! There will be an outdoor Menorah lighting at 5 p.m. Sponsored by Chabad Main Line

7th Annual Chestnutwold Holiday Gift and Craft Show

  • When: Friday, Dec. 7 from 7 - 9  p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Where: Chestnutwold Elementary School, 630 Loraine St, Ardmore
  • Why Go: This event will feature more than 40 local artists, craftsmen, and vendors. Some items for sale include: jewelry, pottery, clothing, accessories, fused glass, homemade shortbread, photography, greeting cards, candles, children’s items, handmade bags, ornaments, home accessories, hand-knitted and crocheted items, and so much more. Kids can enjoy making a take-home art project with Creative Clubhouse from 12-2 on Saturday and face painting all day both days.

Christmas Festival Breakfast

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Where: Saint Paul's Lutheran Church 415 E Athens Ave, Ardmore
  • Why Go: For infants through third graders, come join St. Pauls for a breakfast Christmas party.  There will be a nativity craft, nativity dress-up, and a visit with Santa.  A pancake breakfast will be served.  RSVP with Millie at millie@stpaulsardmore.org or 610-642-3211.

Dickens Festival

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 8 from Noon - 4 p.m.
  • Where:Downtown Narberth, Corner of Forrest and Haverford Avenues
  • Why Go: Come out for this unique and free family event held each December on the streets of downtown Narberth. In this Dickens-themed event, the town of Narberth is transformed into 1840's London, as Ebeneezer Scrooge and all the characters from A Christmas Carol roam the streets. Enjoy professional musicians, costumed performers, and victorian carolers as well as several activities including, a scavenger hunt, horse and carriage rides, crafts, professional ice sculpting display, free showings of A Muppet Christmas Carol, free Nutcracker dance performances from the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet, tatoos and face paintings, and period-authentic vendors and street food.  This event grows larger every year drawing in thousands who want to go back in time.

Children's Book World Brooklyn Bunch

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Four picture book creators will be making their way from Brooklyn to Children's Book World for an afternoon of fun and enjoyment. The authors and books include: Creepy Carrots by Peter Brown, Big Mean Mike by Michelle Knudsen, Moonshot by Brian Floca, and Infinity and Me by Kate Hosford.

Holiday Fine Craft Sale

  • When: Daily through Dec. 9
  • Where: Main Line Arts Center
  • Why Go: Last chance to shop from an amazing assortment of one-of-a-kind fine crafts including handmade jewelry, ceramics, glass, wood, fabric and more.  All handcrafted by professional artists from the region. Hours: Monday – Friday: 10 am - 8 pm; Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm; Sunday: 10 am - 4 pm
