As Much as 9 Inches of Snow Possible Tuesday

Snow, wind and brutal cold are predicted to return to the area just in time for Tuesday's rush hour.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that will go into effect at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and remain in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters say that snow will begin falling in the mid-late morning hours on Tuesday and continue through Tuesday night, and somewhere between five and nine inches of snow are expected to fall.

The heaviest snow is expected to fall Tuesday afternoon and evening just in time for rush hour.

Along with the heavy snowfall, winds in the 15 to 25 miles per hour range are supposed to blow with gusts up to 35 miles per hour, limiting visibility.

In addition to snow and wind, experts say that the temperatures will also drop severely throughout the day Tuesday.

Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to be in the 20s during the day before dropping into the teens and single digits at night.

The National Weather Service also says that wind chills will drop to around 10 degrees on Tuesday before dropping to 10 below zero Tuesday night.

Things will continue to be cold and blustery on Wednesday with a high of 16 degrees predicted.

The temperature will continue to slowly rise as the week progresses with a high of 35 degrees predicted for Saturday.
