Presbyterian Children's Village offers a variety of ways to help children and families

You can help make Christmas special for children and families served by Presbyterian Children's Village.  Over the years, many of our children and families have been touched by the spirit of Christmas through the generosity of caring donors.  These are just a few of the people who were helped with last year’s gifts:

• Tara – a 22 year old who has stepped in to raise her four younger siblings after they lost their mother to cancer
• Jamal – whose mother is struggling with PTSD after several deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan
• Malika and Eugene – struggling to maintain a safe home for their children after they were robbed of everything including the kitchen sink (copper thieves)
• Carl – whose parents are both deaf and struggling to care for him and his younger sister
• Sonya – a mother of three who said “all I want for Christmas is to see my kids smiling and crying, but not tears of sadness, but tears of gladness.”

Will you bring “tears of gladness” to a child or needy family this Christmas?  Your gifts go to children in several programs:  Residential Treatment, Foster Family Programs, Adoption Services,        In-Home Services, Mental Health Counseling and Prevention Programs.  All gifts, no matter how what the size, show our families that someone cares.  That is the greatest gift you can give.

In addition to “wish lists” that will help you shop, the Village is grateful for gifts of cash and gift cards for groceries and gifts.  Gifts can be delivered to the Village during business hours from now through December 18. All gifts should be new items and should be delivered unwrapped.

Presbyterian Children's Village provides a continuum of programs for children and families that work to support the healing from the impact of abuse and neglect, to prevent the need for more intensive services and to develop the skills to build a positive future.  Presbyterian Children's Village is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and certified in the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care.  www.pcv.org.
