2014 Philadelphia Science Festival Ventures to Haverford with Fun for the Whole Family

The Philadelphia Science Festival, a citywide collaboration that brings together nine exciting days filled with events that showcase science and technology in everyday life, returns this year and is coming to Haverford.

To enjoy some time under the stars, head over to Haverford College for an evening of stargazing on Friday, April 25. The Astronomy Night, hosted by the college, runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., so be sure to bring your curiosity and a blanket; the Festival will provide telescopes, star maps and someone to guide you on your tour of the cosmos.  This is the perfect event for the whole family, a date night, or to venture out alone to get lost in the stars.

This great program in Haverford is just one of more than 100 programs in the greater Philadelphia region during the Philadelphia Science Festival, April 25-May 3. The Festival asks Philadelphians to question the world around them and makes science fun and accessible for people of all ages.  Whether you are looking for family-friendly fun or adult-focused shenanigans the Festival will not disappoint.

Now in its fourth year, the Festival, presented by Dow Chemical and led by The Franklin Institute, brings together 175 partners for a celebration of science and technology in everyday places like parks, restaurants, bars, libraries and museums throughout the region.

People of all ages are invited to enjoy the Festival and its robust schedule of fun activities, many of them free. Grab a friend, family member, or significant other and be sure to check out the Festival’s complete list of events and activities www.PhilaScienceFestival.org.
