Carter won a $1,500 scholarship for a public service announcement he produced that shows the importance of growing trees. Philadelphia-area television professionals were the judges of the 30-second spots, which were on the “Going Green” theme—students were challenged to create a message that would raise awareness, change opinions or motivate TV viewers to action. Do you have a child in college who may have stowed away a trumpet in the basement, or attic, five years ago? A new after-school music program, "Maestro the Lion," at Bethel Academy in Ardmore is reaching out for tax-deductible donations of instruments.
