Excessive Heat Safety Tips

More bouts of excessive heat today with the outside air feeling like 103F. Check on your elderly neighbors and family members, stay hydrated, exercise early in the morning or later evening, remember to wear light, comfortable clothing, use sunscreen of SPF 30 or above and reapply every 2-3 hours.

Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion - The most common signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion include: confusion, dark-colored urine (which indicates dehydration)dizziness, fainting, fatigue, headache, muscle cramps, nausea, pale skin, profuse sweating, and rapid heartbeat

Signs and symptoms of Heat Stroke - The medical definition of heat stroke is a core body temperature greater than 105 degrees Fahrenheit, with complications involving the central nervous system that occur after exposure to high temperatures. Other common symptoms include nausea, seizures, confusion, disorientation, and sometimes loss of consciousness or coma.
