Wynnewood Whole Foods Recycles 23,840 Pounds of Electronics
People showed up early to recycle anything with a plug.
Whole Foods set the event, but it was grocery shoppers, like you, who responded with gusto, giving new life to more than 100,000 pounds of discarded electronics.
Consumers showed up to the seven Whole Foods in the Philadelphia area for electronics recycling collections Saturday.
In Wynnewood, the collection was set to start at 9 a.m., but Whole Foods Marketing Team Leader Ruth Harp said people started arriving at 8:30 a.m.
“As we spoke with customers about the event they were most pleased with the fact that their electronics would be processed and recycled locally, thus stimulating the local economy and providing well needed green and sustainable jobs,” said Jay Segal, President of eForce Compliance in a news release.
eForce Compliance is Pennsylvania’s only R2 and e-Stewards certified electronic recycling firm and has teamed up with Whole Foods in the past to provide this valuable service to local residents.
Here’s the breakdown of what was collected:

23,840 pounds |
| Devon | 20,796 pounds |

Sad I didn't know about this last week! Any idea of when this might happen again OR where in Lower Merion someone could recycle similar things?
