Throughout Northwest Philadelphia and suburbs, Patch polled readers to find the best diners in our towns and neighborhoods. After four days of voting, the winners came in.
In Lower Merion, things took a bit longer. There was a tie, between Ruby's Diner in Ardmore or Sam's Grill in Wynnewood, with 15 votes apiece (of a total of 42). The tie-breaker is usually the number of comments a place gets, but there was no solution there. So we kept the poll open through the weekend, asking for comments on either place, or both, and closed it out Monday at 1 p.m.
So we turned to the Patch place listings for Sam's Grill and Ruby's Diner. There, Sam's has two ratings: one 4-star review and one 5-star review, and Ruby's has one 2-star review.
The winner? Sam's Grill. Be sure to check out who won elsewhere in the area below and let us know what you think by commenting. Also, come back Tuesday for this week's poll—best bars.
