Voter ID Clinic To Be Held Thursday In Ardmore
The clinic, hosted by representatives of Rep. Brigg's office, will be held at PALM Senior Center.
Rep. Tim Briggs (D-Montgomery) will host a Voter ID clinic in Ardmore on Thursday to help residents understand how they may be affected by the new Voter ID law, according to a press release.
The clinic will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the PALM Senior Center, located at 117 Ardmore Ave. in Ardmore.
"I encourage anyone who is unsure of whether his or her current ID meets the strict requirements of this new law to attend this clinic," Briggs said in the release.
Members of Briggs' staff will offer an overview of the new law, answer questions from residents, and help residents fill out any forms they may need to obtain a valid ID.
Residents are asked to bring their photo IDs to the clinic so Briggs' staff can determine if it will be an acceptable form of ID at the polls in November, according to the release.
Under the new Voter ID law, voters must bring a photo ID to the polls, and it must "substantially conform" to the voter's name as it appears on the voter rolls. Additionally, it must list an expiration date, and cannot be expired, with limited exceptions.
