Patch wants to know where the best diner in Lower Merion is. After a week of voting, we ended up with a tie. Tell us what's better: Ruby's Diner in Ardmore or Sam's Grill in Wynnewood.
Whichever eatery earns the most positive comments will win. Deadline for comments is 1 p.m. Monday.
Click on the links above, too, so you can rate and review each place on its Patch Place listing.

Anything but Sam's Grill. Overrated, bland food..I honestly don't understand why people go here other than location.

What about Minella's DIner in Wayne?

Minella's would be tough to beat, Sarah (gravy fries at 2:30 a.m., anyone?), but we've limited this ballot to Lower Merion Twp. only.

Sam's is not a diner...and neither is Rubys. Both have terrible food and both lack the depth of a true diner

tough choice. I like them both although, technically, neither are diners.
I had great dinner at ala Maison and at Khajuraho on Greenfield Ave.

Wow - these spots are both terrible. Seems like an opportunity more than anything.

I'm not sure why people are saying that Rubys isn't a diner but I think it is definitely the better choice.

Because diners are not parts of chains and do not rent in malls. Diners are stand alone structures modeled on train dining car like the Trolley Car diner on Germantown Ave or Minella's in Wayne. Diners do not have any specific motifs and tend toward an unremarkable decor.

Sam's is far better. I do like Ruby's for the kids but as far as food quality goes Sam's is number 1.

Sam's Grill is an LM institution! Food is predictable and service is excellent particularly on weekends. Never a parking hastle either

Unless you can get breakfast all day it's not a diner.
