Turnpike Toll Hike Kicked in Jan. 1
A 10 percent increase for all cash customers went into effect Jan. 1.
According to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania Turnpike fares increased by 10 percent for all cash-paying customers on most of the state’s toll roads starting New Year's Day.
The increase does not apply to E-Z Pass users.
Under the new rate, a drive from Valley Forge to Pittsburgh will trigger a toll of $23.90.
The increase will apply to all vehicle classes traveling on all sections of the Turnpike except for Turnpike 576 in Allegheny and Washington counties.
