Truck Stuck Under Bridge; Anderson Avenue Closed
The accident happened about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
A truck became stuck under the railroad bridge over Anderson Avenue early Tuesday afternoon, forcing the road to close indefinitely between Lancaster and Coulter Avenues.
County dispatchers timed the accident at about 1:15 p.m. At about 1:25 p.m., it was determined the truck was too big to tow, according to the dispatch report online. Officials were still working to figure out how to move the truck, as of 2:30 p.m. The only damage appears to be to the beam lodged in the truck, with no structural damage to the bridge itself, police said.
Train schedules have not been affected. Police are waiting on a track inspector and a bridge inspector to arrive from Amtrak.
Traffic is being detoured in the area. Coulter Avenue (the main street running through Suburban Square) is open, but Anderson Avenue is closed between the train station and Coulter Avenue.
Lower Merion police said the road is expected to be closed through evening rush hour.

Memo to self: Don't use "We Haul Moving"/866-533-MOVE unless you want your stuff crushed and compressed.

I'll suggest it's serious if you see a few guys firing up the 'ol cutting torches to get that thing out.

Hey Patch reader, don't blame We-Haul for one drivers mistake, maybe the guy was new and just learned a very hard lesson. Didn't you ever mess up!! Cut the company a break, I have delt with them for 7 years and can say nothing but good things in general about the service . Lee, the Organic Mattress Store, Inc.

It's not at all fair to make assumptions like that about a entire company based on one mistake. I've used we haul moving and they have been excellent. It s a small local company.
