Wondering how okehocking preserve in edgemont was not mentioned here? This is a wonderful land preserve, with miles of trails and fields.....off leash dog walking....streams and hills...valleys and old barns. Just wonderful ! At west Chester pike and delchester rds, entrance on delchester....going west on rt 3, turn right on delchester, entrance is on left 1/4 mile or so.

Hi Faith, Bob is correct below. Okehocking is listed as the Malvern winner above. It's in Willistown Township, but has a Newtown Square address. Definitely a great place to take a hike—check out some of our photos of the preserve: http://patch.com/L-rc2P.

This is the Okehoking Preserve that they are talking about. It's in Willistown, not Edgemont.

Roz—correct! But the Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch covers the communities of Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne and Haverford, so it is within our coverage area... it's just faster to say Ardmore Patch.

Scott Arboretum, entrance and parking, at Swarthmore College, Chester Road; is lovely in all seasons. The amphitheater, trails should be visited; trees and plants are labeled; an Alexander Calder piece and Abracadabra are on the grounds; lush rose garden.
