Halloween Spirit Strikes Early In Wynnewood

A Halloween costume shop has temporarily moved into the old Wynnewood Borders space.

It might still be a few months before Halloween, but a new store at the Wynnewood Shopping Center will help you get an early start on selecting the perfect costume.

Spirit Halloween has moved into the old Borders spot, and has signed a lease that will run from Sept. 10 to Nov. 10, according to Federal Realty representative Andrea Simpson.

Until recently, the building was occupied by Affordable Home Furnishings. The discount furniture store moved in last November and had in recent months been prominently displaying a banner stating that they'd lost their lease.

Heidi Tirjan, Lower Merion retail coordinator, told Patch in a previous interview that Affordable Home Furnishings had been on a month-to-month lease.

Last year, before Affordable Home Furnishings' arrival, a Halloween Adventure moved into the spot following Borders' departure in September. Ardmore Patch's article on the opening was featured in a Wall Street Journal article about the prevalence of pop-up stores in the wake of Borders' closing.

Spirit Halloween offers costumes for adults, kids and pets, along with accessories and decorations, according to the Spirit Halloween website.
