Mark your calendars, the Ardmore Initiative's "Taste of Ardmore" food and fashion event is back for the second consecutive year.
On Thursday, Nov. 11 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Ardmore area restaurants and retailers will set up shop at Ardmore Toyota on 219 E. Lancaster Avenue to show off their latest food and fashion goods.
"The evening will include a fashion show featuring fashion and accessories from downtown and Suburban Square retailers, giving attendees and up-close look at the latest trends and styling options," an Ardmore Initiative press release says. The participating retailers list is extensive, and will include: Aerosoles, Aqua Hut Dive & Travel, Ardmore Eye Care, Banana Republic, Barbour, Buckmans Ski & Snowboard, Crabtree & Evelyn, Eileen Fisher, Foot Solutions, Giannini Jewelers, Human Zoom Bikes & Boards, Isabel's Gown & Hair Design, Jacques Ferber Furs, Janice Martin Couture, Jr. League of Philadelphia, Lilly Pulitzer, Lucky Girl, Past*Present*Future, Petunia's Consignment Boutique, Sabrina Ann Once Worn & Never Worn Bridal, Seidenburg Luggage and Suburban Office Equipment.
"The show will include local 'celebrity' models as well as professional models from the Reinhard Model and Talent Agency," the press release says. "Stylist Megan Kristel will dress the models, with hair styled by Bernie's Hair Studio, Jay Michael Salon, Salon 31 and Rae & Co. Salon. Makeup artist Béke Beau will provide makeup for the models."
Along with the fashion, local restaurants will provide a full range of food samplers for guests to enjoy – everything from appetizers to entrees and desserts. A wine bar courtesy of Main Line Wine Events and a martini bar from Philadelphia Distilling will also be available to serve guests.
Participating restaurants include: A La Maison, Ardmore Station Café, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Firinji, Golden China/Golden Bowl, Hummus Restaurant, Khajurahu India, Kotatsu, McCloskey's Food & Spirits, MilkBoy Coffee, Plate Restaurant, Primavera Pizza Kitchen, Viking Pastries and Yeats Pub.
All guests will also receive a goody bag with special offers from all of the retailers and souvenir keepsake recipe book. Raffle tickets with be sold for a 42-inch plasma TV donated by Gerhard's Appliance – $10 each or three for $25.
"This event is a true celebration of Ardmore restaurants, retailers and businesses," said Christine Vilardo, Executive Director of Ardmore Initiative. "We are happy to provide an event for our merchants and community that showcases all that Ardmore has to offer."
Vilardo also said that Taste of Ardmore is Ardmore Initiative's primary fundraising event for the year. Tickets sell for $50 each or $90 for two and are available at the Ardmore Initiative office at 56 E. Lancaster Avenue or online at www.AllAboutArdmore.com.
