UPDATED: 10-Year-Old Allegedly Stabs Father in Ardmore

The father is in the hospital; the boy is in the custody of family members, officials said.

 

Updated 11:54 a.m. 7/30/12: A 10-year-old boy who allegedly stabbed his father Sunday night at the Llanfair House apartment complex in Ardmore is in the custody of family members, according to Lower Merion Public Information Officer Tom Walsh.

The father was taken to Paoli Hospital, Walsh said; no information is available regarding his condition.

Police have not yet released further information.

Updated 11:05 a.m. 7/30/12: Police have confirmed initial reports that a 10-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his father Sunday night at the Llanfair House apartment complex in Ardmore, according to Lower Merion Public Information Officer Tom Walsh.

The father was taken to the hospital, Walsh said; no information has been received regarding his condition. 

Police are not releasing any other information at this time.

Updated 11:30 p.m. 7/29/12: A stabbing was reported by Montgomery County Dispatch at the Llanfair House apartment complex in Ardmore shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday. 

Multiple Lower Merion police cars and officers were at the scene of the reported stabbing, 17 Llanfair Rd. in Ardmore, on Sunday night. A Narberth ambulance was seen leaving shortly before 11 p.m.

A Lower Merion Police Department spokesperson said no further information will be available until Monday.

Medics are responding to a stabbing at Llanfair and Church roads in Ardmore, according to Montgomery County Dispatch.

The incident occurred about 10:13 p.m. Sunday.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his family, I hope he recovers soon.

But why would they take a stab victim in Ardmore all the way out to Paoli hospital? That is much much further than Lankenau, Bryn Mawr, or even HUP (University of Penn)

Why would they release the kid into the "custody of family members"?
Was he sent to his room without dinner, too?
Could this be why kids grow up to become criminals?

Perhaps because he is 10? Were you thinking Graterford? Truth is, there are almost no details in this story. Too soon to rush to judgement, I think.

Yeah, I thought that by law the patient had to be transported to the closest hospital?
