In a community of more than 58,000, this is a remarkably small number of 911 calls. The rape is very disturbing though and an anomaly. What happened?

Bob, these records were just recently posted and so I haven't put a call into police about it yet, but I will be doing so today. It was not mentioned by police during the press briefing last week.

Bob,
I don't tink this includes Gladwyne, Villanova, Rosemont, Bryn Mawr, Penn Valley, Belmont Hills, Bala Cynwyd, & Penn Wynne.

Yes, Richard, that is correct (except Penn Wynne is included here). This is for Ardmore, Merion, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne and Haverford, primarily. The incidents in the rest of Lower Merion/Narberth have been removed; you can view that police activity on Bryn Mawr Patch and Bala Cynwyd Patch.

Thanks Amanda.
The point being that the geographical area being discussed here doesn't include all of the Township. This specific area does not hold all 58,000 residents. So the statement that this is low call volume is misleading.
Also, I didn't read that the calls were all 911 calls. Does the 461 represent just 911 or does it also include calls for general service?

"Police calls" in this context means police activity—places and situations the police responded to, which includes everything from 911 hangups to thefts to noisy parties to raccoon incidents. You can look at the locations and descriptions of the activity in the PDF attached to the photo gallery—apologies, because that PDF should have been attached with the original article (it somehow was not).
