Police: $3,400 In Property Stolen In Wynnewood Burglary
Also reported by police this week: a burglar stole $700 in cigarettes from a Merion pharmacy.
Theft: An iPhone was stolen about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 29 from a bathroom at Poppi's Pizza. The phone was the restaurant owner's, and the estimated value was $800, police said.
Burglary: Babis Pharmacy in Merion Station was burglarized about 12:25 a.m. Aug. 30, police said. Surveillance video showed someone broke the glass of the front door, then put abou 120 packs of cigarettes in a bag (including 20 packs of Kools and 20 of Salems) and fled. The estimated value of the merchandise was $700.
Burglary: An apartment at the Wynnewood Park complex on Wynnewood Road was burglarized during the day Aug. 29, police said. There were no signs of forced entry. The residents reported a checkbook and $60 in cash was missing.
Theft: A Giant Foods employee working early the morning of Aug. 31 discovered his wallet had been stolen after he had taken a break outside. He later found it in a trash can in front of Bed Bath & Beyond, with $200 in cash having been removed, police said.
Public drunkenness: A 32-year-old Drexel Hill man was cited for public intoxication after being found unconscious on the ground near Planet Fitness about 11:15 p.m. Sept. 1, police said.
Burglary: A house on the 1300 block of Andover Road was burglarized sometime Aug. 31 through Sept. 2, while the residents were away, police said. It appeared someone entered after prying open a dining room window. About $3,400 in property was stolen, including jewelry, a camera, a lens and an Apple laptop.
