The Penn Wynne 10th Annual 5K Run and Walk brought out 199 contestants.   Benefiting the Penn Wynne Library, the event has raised $90,000 over the past ten years.

Twenty-nine area companies sponsored this year's run and walk, providing funding, food, music, amusements and even massages. Several hundred  young and old, moms and dads, children and dogs filled the area around the library. State Senator Daylin Leach and State Representative Tim Briggs were also on hand for the race.

The winner of the race was Rick Clendaniel of Trappe, PA who finished with a time of 17 minutes and 25 seconds.  Second and third places were taken by Tim Hayburn of Ardmore and Tom Kolimago of Penn Wynne. Coming in first as a runner pushing a stroller was Mike Rittinger of Ardmore. The first place female finisher was Viola Teriesea of Wynnewood followed by Mary Baranov of Wynnewood and Eiko Ogiso. The winners received trophies and all the children who raced received medals for their participation.
