Merion Station Man Dies in Bala Cynwyd Car Crash
A second man in the car was injured Saturday morning, police said.
A Merion Station man was killed and a Narberth man was injured early Saturday morning in a one-car accident on Rock Hill Road in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion police said.
About 2 a.m., Jason K. Dubin, 27, of the 500 block of Revere Road in Merion Station was driving west on Rock Hill Road with Nicholas Tropea, 22, of the 1000 block of Montgomery Avenue in the car, police said.
Police believe the car was traveling at high speed when it struck a utility pole on the right side of the road.
Dubin was pronounced dead at the scene. Tropea was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The impact damaged a power transformer on the pole, and Rock Hill Road was to be closed until repairs are complete.
LMPD's Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash.

His address was very close to where I grew up. I used to play not far from Rock Hill Road too, at Amherst Field when I went to Bala Cynwyd Jr. High (It was called that back in the day).
