Lankenau Hospital Named One of Top 100 Hospitals

The list was released this week by Thomson Reuters.

 was named among the top 100 hospitals in the nation for the first time, according to a recent Thomson Reuters report.

Two other Main Line Health hospitals were also named to the list—Bryn Mawr Hospital for the third time and Paoli Hospital for the fourth time, states a Main Line Health press release.

Bryn Mawr and Lankenau ranked in the "teaching hospitals" category, and Paoli ranked in the "medium community hospitals" category, according to the report.

“Once again, a national organization has recognized the outstanding efforts of our physicians, nurses, clinical and non-clinical staff in providing a superior experience for our patients and community,” said Jack Lynch, president and CEO of Main Line Health in a press release. “This speaks volumes about the quality of people and programs we have throughout Main Line Health and I congratulate everyone involved in this Top 100 achievement.”

The award winners were selected from among almost 3,000 U.S. hospitals.

Key performance measures used included: Risk-adjusted mortality index, risk-adjusted complications index, risk-adjusted patient safety index, core measures score, 30-day mortality rate, 30-day risk-adjusted readmission rate, severity-adjusted average length of stay, case mix- and wage-adjusted inpatient expense per adjusted discharge, profitability (operating profit margin) and HCAHPS score (patient rating of overall hospital performance).
