Man Brandishes Knife at Barbacoa, Police Say

The assailant was known to the victim, according to the police report.

A man was assaulted at knifepoint at Barbacoa on Jan. 9, Lower Merion police said at a Monday briefing.

Police responded to the restaurant, located at 64 Rittenhouse Place in Ardmore, at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday on report of an assault. When they arrived, the complainant told them that he had been summoned from the restaurant’s basement to the front counter. When he reached the front counter, the other man—whom the complainant knew—lunged at him with a folding knife, police said.

According to the report, the complainant ran to the basement to retrieve his own knife. When he came back upstairs, the other man ran out of the restaurant and left in a 2009 white Honda Accord.

There were no injuries, police said.

Uh oh, now the government will want to take away knives or at least have extensive records on who owns them.
