How To Make $99,000 In Fast Food
The compensation package for a Chipotle general manager can exceed $99,000 annually—and the Ardmore location is hiring.
Fast food may not be known for its high-earning potential, but become a general manager at Chipotle and you could be rolling in more than just burritos. The compensation package for a Chipotle restauranteur—or general manager—hovers around $99,000 a year, CBS Los Angeles reports.
An entry-level employee at Chipotle Mexican Grill makes about $21,000 a year plus benefits, but those employees can work their way up, sometimes fairly quickly. One restauranteur CBS Los Angeles interviewed, Lidia Castillo, went from a service manager to general manager in less than a year.
In 2011, 97 percent of Chipotle's salaried managers were promoted from hourly positions within Chipotle, the restaurant's website states.
The employees who make it to the top of the ladder possess the 13 qualities Chipotle says make an ideal employee. Those characteristics, Castillo told CBS Los Angeles, are: “Conscientious, respectful, hospitable, high energy, infectiously enthusiastic, happy, presentable, smart, polite, motivated, ambitious, curious, and honest."
