As lovely as downtown Ardmore's main business strip may have become in recent years, the prospect of traipsing around Lancaster Avenue in the dark—on the night after Groundhog Day—is not an especially appealing one, even in search of food, music and fun.
So February's First Friday Main Line event will once again be "Foodapalooza" or Foodapalooza IV, as the organizers are calling it, borrowing the Roman numeral motif from another fairly large event that will round out the weekend that Sunday.
The event (Friday, Feb. 3) will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Haverford Estates (731 Old Buck Lane, Haverford), just behind Main Line Art Center.
Food and wine can be sampled from A la Maison, A Taste of Olive, Carlino’s Market, Firinji, McCloskey’s Tavern, Jack McShea's, MilkBoy Coffee, Whole Foods Market, and lots of other places, too. There will be a wine tasting from Majestic Wine & Spirits, and a beer tasting courtesy of Tired Hands Brew Cafe (due to open soon on Ardmore Avenue).
The cost is $30 per person ($25 online), but children under 5 can come for free.
