Drunk Driver Flees Traffic Stop, Police Say
The Ardmore man was cited for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, police said.
The following information was provided by the Lower Merion Police Department. Where arrests and charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.
A 27-year-old man from the 100 block of Ardmore Avenue was arrested Feb. 9 in Bala Cynwyd and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, police said at a Tuesday briefing.
The driver's rear windshield and side windows were obscured with snow when he was pulled over for speeding and swerving at Righters Ferry Road and Monument Road about 2:35 a.m. Feb. 9, police said.
When the officer asked for license and registration, the driver did not respond at first—then hit the gas and drove away without a word.
The officer pulled him over again, and the driver stopped in the middle of the road, police said. His blood-alcohol content tested at 0.13.

WHY DOES PATCH RARELY LIST A NAME TO GO WITH THESE STORIES. THE NAMES OF THE OFFENDERS ARE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THESE CRIME STORIES.

Hi John—Our policy in police stories is not to include names of people who have been charged with a misdemeanor.
