Crime Stats: Burglaries, Fraud, Thefts

A roundup of police calls in our area the week of Jan. 14-20.

 

Lower Merion police responded to approximately 370 calls the week ending Jan. 20 throughout Ardmore, Merion Station, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne and Haverford, up from 348 calls for service received the previous week.

A version of the department's most recent report, sorted by the type of incident and culled of incidents throughout the rest of Lower Merion, is attached to this article.

From Jan. 14 to Jan. 20, the police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) included:

  • Burglary, 5:07 p.m. on Jan. 15 on the unit block of Simpson Rd. in Ardmore, and the 200 block of E Athens Rd. in Ardmore at 6:03 p.m. on Jan. 19.
  • 2 cases of bad checks
  • 1 case of wire fraud
  • 2 reported public drunkenness cases
  • 5 thefts, each more than $200
