Crime Stats: 3 Burglaries, 8 Fox Encounters

A roundup of police calls in the Ardmore Patch area the first week of October.

 

Lower Merion police responded to approximately 359 calls the week of Oct. 1 throughout Ardmore, Merion Station, Wynnewood, Penn Wynne and Haverford, down from about 411 calls for service received the previous week.

A version of the department's most recent report, sorted by the type of incident and culled of incidents throughout the rest of Lower Merion, is attached to this article.

Patch also has reported some incidents from the week of Oct. 1 that were relayed in a police briefing.

From Oct. 1 to 6, the police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) included:

  • 3 residential burglaries: Meredith Road, Trent Road and Knox Road
  • 1 incident of drug possession
  • One motor vehicle accident involving an injured pedestrian
  • 1 bicycle theft
  • 1 incident of retail theft
  • 8 fox encounters

What is a fox encounter. I see our neighborhood foxes most mornings. Am I supposed to be reporting that to the police?

I saw a big fox Saturday night on the corner of Price ave. and N. Essex. He/she was really big and beautiful
