Town Hall and Arts Event
at Haverford College
On Saturday, December 1st, The Margaret Gest Center and Global Dialogue Institute is hosting One Heart/One Mind at Haverford College, 370 Lancaster Avenue. This unique event is designed to celebrate and raise awareness of the new levels of Unity that are emerging in our communities. The event begins at 1Pm with an historic Town Hall meeting led by Dr. Ashok Gangadean, long-time Margaret Gest Professor of Global Philosophy. The topic of the discussion is “The Emergence of Global Democracy”. Attendees will be invited to participate in a lively open dialogue in which ideas and thoughts about our democracy and our global connections will be discussed. The day also features inspiring Art by Rosemary Lane (former Art Professor @ University of Delaware), soulful and uplifting Music directed by Stephen Katriel Wise (former vocalist for Stevie Wonder), and an interactive Dance piece choreographed by Colleen Hooper (graduate student at Temple University) The event will conclude with a reading of a Declaration of Interdependence, in honor and recognition of this year’s 225th anniversary of the Philadelphia signing of the US Constitution in 1787. This event is part of Birth 2012, a Global Unity celebration which will be streamed around the world on December 21st and 22nd. Suggested donation is $5.00
